sunnies

yellow sunshine

think i'm making up for a serious vitamin D deficiency from this past winter....all i wanted to do today was warm my bare skin in the sun and space off while looking at the tree branches bend in the breeze. luckily, i was able to do most of my work outside today (pen in hand, laptop close by) and make it through...even if a couple of minutes were lost in reckless daydreaming....

cravings

Back in our pre-Fayetteville days, the Mr. and I briefly lived in Vienna for a few months--it was wonderful in so many different ways...we were newly married, living in a new place, and the whole world felt like a giant adventure. Food and travel were at the center of that adventure--and I spent whole days walking around the city eating and checking out gourmet shops. Among other things, I discovered an amazing chocolate that I've never been able to find stateside. (Hopefully, someone out there in internet-land will hear this cry and set up shop nearby!)

Zotter Chocolate is AMAZING: it combines incredible and unusual ingredients together in the most amazing and surprising ways: goiji berries and sesame nougat, rose petals, styrian pumpkin seeds....yum.

Click here for the company's UK homepage. I don't see the full range of flavors that I found in Vienna, but the site explains a bit about the company and is worth checking out. (And Zotter, if you are listening--I'm ready and willing to work as a future tastetester!)

prepping for spring

Thanks to an ad in the NY Times a few Sundays ago, I rediscovered Boden's cute prints for spring and summer 2010. I like to be uber-preppy in the summer and wear bright colors and crisp whites. I thought this top would be cute for this summer's cruise.

give me liberty or give me....

Liberty of London for Target

i usually hate target's faux-collaborations with big-name designers: the quality is startlingly cheap, and the fabrics just don't feel good...and why buy something if you don't want to have it on? but i LOVE the liberty of london for target line....so darling. i bought a bunch of the underwear today and will look for some more. so springy and perfect for the 70 degree plus day! what do you all think about the liberty line?

back with it!

i've just been totally overwhelmed for the past few weeks with all sorts of work and responsibilities...and then we had a snowstorm this past weekend and i wasn't able to leave the house for two entire days. today, however, is gorgeous: our windows are open, i'm listening to the sound of snow melting, and i got out to the gym and to the store. after yummy mozzarella/pesto/spinach/tomato/basil sandwiches and a long walk in the sunshine (dodging puddles and snow piles, of course!) i feel SO much better.

let spring commence!

sunday in short

pic from the satorialist
missing an extra hour today and wishing it was warm enough to brunch outside...love the scarf/tights/hat/messy hair combo above. the chairs and outside seating reminds me of a parisian cafe i used to visit in tokyo. days of leisure will come again.

busy busy busy

haven't had time to post much this whole week because life is running on full speed, but i thought i'd point you all to one of my favorite blogs out there: closet therapy. she just collected and posted this cute little montage of sailing inspired clothing and i love it--so classic and so wearable. and so good for spring, which seems to have vanished from NWA. come back!
